Kenneth R. Palumbo, 74, of East Providence, RI, peacefully entered into the Lord’s care on April 14, 2026. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend, Ken lived a life shaped by faith, family, and quiet devotion to those he loved. Born November 22, 1951, he was a man of faith who trusted in God’s promise and found comfort in prayer and the presence of his family.
Ken is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Palumbo; mother, Catherine Palumbo; his sons Peter Palumbo and his wife Megan, and Nicholas Palumbo and his wife Anja Friesenecker; his sisters Kathleen Palumbo-Santos and her husband Humberto Santos, and Victoria Polidoro and her husband Mario Polidoro; and his niece Stella Polidoro. He cherished his grandchildren — Petra (8), Roman (5), and baby Gabriel — who brought light and joy to his days. He was predeceased by his father, Peter Palumbo.
For more than ten years Ken lived with ALS. He faced his illness with unyielding bravery and grace, leaning on his faith and the love of his family. His courage, quiet dignity, and gentle humor during those years were a profound witness to the strength faith can provide. Though his body was limited by disease, his spirit remained free, hopeful, and anchored in God’s love. The family is grateful for the love and support of Ken’s long-term caregivers, by which he survived.
A viewing will be held at Swan Point Cemetery, Chapel of Hope and Memory, 585 Blackstone Blvd., Providence, RI, on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Burial service will take place at Swan Point Cemetery on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 10:30 AM, with a collation to follow at Gray‑Coale Hall, Swan Point.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the ALS Foundation of Rhode Island in Ken’s memory. The family takes comfort in the promise of eternal life and in the knowledge that Ken rests now in Heaven, embraced by the Lord. May he rest in God’s everlasting peace.
