Born in Portugal, a daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (Conceica) Furtado, she immigrated to the United States in 1965, moving to Somerset in 1978.
A homemaker, Mrs. Mota enjoyed cooking and taking care of her many house plants.
She is survived by three daughters; Kita Gouveia and her husband David of Somerset, Connie Rapozo and her husband Carlos and Laurie Costa and her husband Francisco all of Portugal, one son: Joseph F. Mota of Somerset, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral will be held Friday, October 21, 2011 at 8:00AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at BIRCHCREST 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM in St. John of God, 1036 Brayton Avenue, Somerset. Visiting hours Thursday from 4-7 PM. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Somerset.
