Tammy J. Lambert

Tammy J. (Tavares) Lambert, age 46, of Swansea, passed away at her residence Thursday, January 15, 2015. Born in Fall River, a daughter of Roger Tavares of TN and the late Joann (Mello) Tavares, she had been a resident of Swansea for over twenty years.

A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, class of 1986, she worked for the Town of Swansea as a driver for many years before being appointed as the Director of Transportation. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Swansea Fire Department Station #1. She enjoyed camping and making jewelry.

In addition to her father, she is survived by one son: Benjamin T. Lambert of Swansea, one sister: Tracy Rodrigues, two brothers: Steven and Roger Tavares all of NC, husband Thomas Lambert, many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was the mother of the late Ryan J. Pavao.

The family would like to thank all of the Personal Care Assistants from Cerebral Palsy Inc. of Massachusetts for their exceptional and compassionate care especially Sandra Viveiros.

Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 9:30AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at BIRCHCREST, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30AM in St. John of God Church, 1036 Brayton Ave., Somerset. Visiting hours Monday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. Contributions in her honor may be made to the A.L.S. Foundation, 315 Norwood Park South, First Floor, Norwood, MA 02062. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Swansea, MA 02777.
