Born in Fall River, a son of the late Manuel V. Ponte, Sr. and Adeline (Medeiros) Ponte, he lived in Swansea most of his life and had worked as a groundskeeper for Swan Finishing in Fall River for several years. Bill loved baseball, gardening, Hawaiian music and was considered to be the “life of the party”!
Surviving: two nephews; Michael R. Ponte and his wife Tatum and Richard W. Ponte all of Swansea, niece; Linda Medeiros and her husband David of Freetown and all of his caregivers and his many friends. He was also brother of the late Manuel Ponte, Jr.
His Funeral will be Monday, April 22, 2013 at 8:30 AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT BIRCHCREST, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea with a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Family will greet friends from 8:30AM – 9:30 AM in the funeral home prior to the mass. Entombment in Notre Dame Mausoleum.
