Born in Fall River, a son of the late James and Katherine C. (Clarke) Reynolds, he was a lifelong resident of Swansea and a graduate of Joseph Case High School where he played baseball and football and was later inducted into the Case Football Hall of Fame.
Mr. Reynolds was a Commercial Fisherman for over 50 years, a lifetime member of the Swansea Fire Department earning rank of Captain, a Union Teamster Dock Worker and a Swansea Town Shellfish Warden for several years. He was also owner and operator of the Reynolds Bus Company and the former Clam Shack in Swansea where he seasonally also sold Christmas trees.
An outdoorsman, he was an avid birdwatcher, gardener, fisherman, hunter and trapper and loved to go to yard sales.
He was the father of: William J. Reynolds of Florida, Timothy P. and Patrick J. Reynolds both of Swansea, Jean M. Maynard of Warren, Kathryn A. Barboza of Swansea, Lori E. Mendoza of Little Compton, Judith A. Mello of Swansea, and Kelly A. Dankievitch of Somerset, brother of: Thomas and John Reynolds of Swansea and Jean Boynton of Warwick. He also leaves: 19 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews and 1 great-great grandson. He was brother of the late James, Joseph and Raymond Reynolds.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 9AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT BIRCHCREST, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea with a funeral mass at 10 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Rd.
