Winifred G. Hutchinson

Winifred G. (Stewart) Hutchinson, “Winnie,” age 75, of Swansea, passed away peacefully with her husband by her side at her residence on Friday, September 20, 2024. She was the loving wife of Joseph Felton and the late Alan Hutchinson.

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Wilfred and Gilberte ( Lavoie ) Stewart, she was a lifelong resident of Swansea. A graduate of Joseph Case High School, she received her nursing degree from Union Hospital School of Nursing in 1970.

Winnie worked as a Registered Nurse for 54 years, most notably at the Fall River Jewish Home retiring as Assistant Director after 37 years. She went on to work for Community Connections for 9 years where she made many friends and clients that brought her joy. She was also active with the Swansea Lions Club for many years.

An avid gardener, she enjoyed birdwatching, being outdoors, lounging by the pool and watching football. She loved to travel throughout the country, take trips to the Casino, watch a Broadway play and vacation in Aruba.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one brother, Guy Stewart and his wife Tammy and niece Samantha Niewola all of Swansea. She was the mother of the late Christopher Hutchinson.
