Curtis George White

It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our loving husband, father, son brother and friend, Curtis, on Saturday November 22, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Sydney Mines, he was the much loved son of Margaret (MacMullin) and the late George White.

Curtis was employed with Algoma Central Marine for over 25 years. The last ship he sailed on was the Algo Lake.

In his spare time, when he wasn’t sailing on the great lakes, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and his two dogs Oscar and Molly.

Curtis will be sadly missed by his loving wife Pauline, two daughters Megan (Daren) and Ashley (Lorne) as well as Maylene Ferguson, mother of his two children and step-children Liseanne Lee and Daniel Maskell. He is also survived by his brothers Gary (Raylene), Greg (Dianna), Sheldon (Michelle) sisters, Jennifer (Freddie) and Nicole (Alex) as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his father George, Curtis was predeceased by his sister Irene White and a brother in infancy.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 25, 2014 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM at Fillmore & Whitman Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday November 26, 2014 Holy Family Parish, Main Street, Sydney Mines at 10 am with Fr. Thomas John officiating. Reception will follow in the Holy Family Parish Hall.
