It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and aunt Ethel Forrest on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at the Miner's Memorial Manor in Sydney Mines. Daughter of the late John and Mary (Best) Shepherd. Ethel was predeceased by her husband Hugh, her son Doug as well as all of her 11 siblings. Surviving her is her daughter Sherry Grant, daughter-in-law Juanita Forrest, grandchildren Karen, Troy, Kevin, Christopher, Krystal, Gregory and Natasha, as well as 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and her sister-in-law Ann Baxter. Ethel was a homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family and ensuring that her home was loving, warm and inviting. She was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. She was blessed to be able to recently celebrate her 99th birthday with her family and she maintained her sharp mind and quick whit right up to the end.
A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, April 3 at Fillmore & Whitman Funeral Home, 8 Clyde Ave., Sydney Mines with Rev. Ritchie Robinson officiating. The family would like to thank all of the staff of the Miner's Memorial Manor for all of the wonderful care you provided to Ethel during her stay.
