Garland Anne Stubbert

With the heaviest of hearts, we announce the passing of Garland Stubbert, née Jones, at the age of 80. Garland passed away peacefully with family by her side on March 30th, 2023 in the early morning hours.

Born May 14, 1942, to the late Garfield and Mabel Jones and predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Leslie Kenneth Stubbert, and children Kenneth, Sheldon-Wayne, and Michelle “Shelly” (Freeman), and by siblings, Conrad “Connie" and Sheldon (Grace).

Garland is survived by her daughters, Susan (Barry), Marlene (Gervy) and Garlie (Gerry), her grandchildren, Marshall (Sherry), Lesley (Cord), Norman (Stephanie), Suzanne (Jordan), Barry (Adrienne), Gabriella (Andrew), Kayla (Travis), Krissy (Hugh Alec), Clyde, Randy (Robyn), Travis (Jordan), Brandon, Michelle (Nathan), and Kenneth, and great-grandchildren, Hope, Riley, Athena, Max, Ophelia, Les, Leo and Jaymes. She is also survived by her sisters, Evelyn (Lawrence), Marlene (George), and Miriam (Sonny).

Mommy was the life of the party and her laughter will live on in our memories for many years to come. We will always think back on our time spent in Ingonish with her and the family—often playing cards or at the beach. She loved to be social and to get out in the community and will be greatly missed by countless people.

There will be a service held on Monday, March 3rd, 2023 at 2:00pm at Fillmore & Whitman Funeral Home, 8 Clyde Avenue, Sydney Mines.
