Margaret 'Nede' Marion Nelida Young

We the family want to announce the passing of Nelida Young “Nede” born April 10, 1940 and died December 2, 2017 at Northside General Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Ben & Liza Young of Bras d’Or.

She is survived by her sisters Lex McManaman, Naish Addicott, Lenora Jessome (Emerson), Sally Stubbert (Brosie), sisters-in-law Marg and Shirley and many nieces and nephews.

Spending time with her great great niece Ivy Hill was a source of great joy to her. Ona LeBlanc and Ann Bonnar were two nieces that Nede called “her angels” and they never left her side.

Nede is predeceased by her sister Marie, brothers John D., Benjamin, Alex and Franklin, brothers-in-law Bob, Ron and Harry and sisters-in-law Nancy and Sarah.

Nede was a dear friend to all. A great baker. She really enjoyed scratch tickets, card games, bingo, doing puzzels and reading. She was also an active and involved member of the Bras d'Or Pensioners Club. She never stopped praying right up until her final breath.

There will be no visitation by her request. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Church in Bras d’Or, officiated by Father Peter McLeod with assistance from Father Jake Andrea.
