Sharon Williams passed from this life at Buchanan Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 with her family by her side. Sharon was born in Ingonish Beach on April 23, 1946 to Walter and Margaret (Williams) Donovan. She was a devoted nurse both professionally and to those who needed care in her community. For many years Sharon was an employee of Buchanan Memorial Hospital and completed her career at the Highland Manor Nursing Home, retiring in 2001. Sharon was first and foremost a wife, mother, granny , sister and true friend to all who knew her.
Sharon is survived by her husband Fred Williams and sons Trevor (Karla), Halifax, Cory (Anita), Ingonish; grandchildren Tessa and Jonah, Halifax and Gabrielle and Ira, Ingonish; sisters Rosemary LaRusic (John), Ann Hussey (Keith), Ingonish,
Paula Mayich (John), Lower Sackville; brothers Bill Donovan (Jan), Roland Donovan(Mary) both of North Sydney, Kenny Donovan (Rose), Ingonish Beach; step-sisters Betty McInnis, Toronto, Sylvia Lowes (Larry), Clarksburg, Ont., Cecilia Shoniker (John), Kingston, Ont., Bernadette Joseph (Bobby), Anna Radzikowski (Vince), Sydney;
step-brothers, Curtis Whalen, Sydney, Leonard Whalen (Barbara), Ottawa. Sharon is also survived by her mother-in-law Jean Williams, Highland Manor, Neil's Harbour.
Sharon's kind heart and spirit will be remembered by all who knew her. Sharon was predeceased by her parents and father-in-law Owen Williams.
There will be no visitation. Sharon's life will be celebrated in a service held at St. Peter's Parish Church, Ingonish Beach, on Friday, October 8 at 11:00 a.m., Father Dan MacDonald officiating.
