78, Big Bras d'Or
With heavy hearts and great sorrow, we are sad to announce the passing of our dear mother Theresa McEachern on February 14, 2015 at the Northside General Hospital. A caring woman with a great sense of humor who put everyone before herself. She was deeply loved by her family and all who knew her and will never be forgotten.
Born in Alder Point on September 19, 1936, she was the daughter of the Late John and Lena Taylor of George's River.
Theresa worked in the hospitality service for 32 years. She always had a smile for everyone and loved to laugh. Her favourite time of the year was Christmas. She enjoyed shopping for everyone and decorating her home. She was noted as being one of the last to take her tree down. She loved her day trips as overnight stays with her two fellow travellers, Shirley and Isabel. Theresa will stay in our hearts forever.
Theresa was the mother of Carol (Kevin) Cousins, Port Bevis, sons; Kenny Dunlap, Boularderie and Daniel (Tanya) Dunlap, Black Rock. Theresa was the proud grandmother of Steven & Justin Cousins and Jeremy and Brandon Dunlap as well as five great grand-children. She is survived by sisters Loretta MacKenzie, and Marie (Roddie) MacInnis, brothers John (Bev) Taylor, Harold (Bernice) Taylor and Cyril (Michelle) Taylor as well as special friend Hugh Muir, Big Bras d'Or and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Theresa was predeceased by her husbands Archie Dunlap and Alex McEachern, sister Georgina McCormick, and twins in infancy
Cremation has taken place, with burial to be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Fillmore & Whitman Funeral Home, 10 Clyde Ave., Sydney Mines.
Donations in Theresa's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
