It is with profound sadness the family announces Andrew’s peaceful passing on Saturday, August 17th, 2013 with his family by his side. Born in Sydney on February 24, 1984. Andrew was the son of Lucy Campbell of Sydney and Hugh MacDonald of Gillis’ Lake.
A graduate of Riverview High School and Nova Scotia Community College, Andrew was employed as the Atlantic Sales & Service Representative for Modern Tool of Calgary Alberta. He was an Electronic Technician who loved to fix and tinker with everything from a child’s toy to a 797 in the Oil Sands. He had also been employed with NSPC, Halifax. Andrew was truly a thoughtful person and always there for everyone to lend a hand. He loved spending time with his brother, Daniel who was his best friend and twin at heart. He cherished all of his family especially his brother, Paul and family with whom he resided. He loved camping, four wheeling, the Discovery Channel and debating everything from politics to history and was an avid Habs fan. Andrew was known to all as the “Big Teddy Bear” and everyone loved his big smile that lit up a room the moment he stepped in. He will be missed by his many friends, nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, aunts, uncles and especially his godparents, Annie MacDonald and Jim Curry.
Andrew is survived and will be greatly missed by his brothers, Stanley (Kelley), Paul (Patricia), Daniel (Jennifer). His sisters, Betty (Roland), Andrea (Bobby) and Diane (who was like a second mother to Andrew). Andrew is also survived by his siblings, John, James and Laurie Ann MacDonald.
Andrew was predeceased by his sisters, Sheila and Mary; his brother, James. He was also predeceased by his grandparents, Mary-Lizzie and Andrew MacDonald and his grandmother Elizabeth Doucette.
