

73 – Whitney Pier
Bernetta Lillian MacInnis, 73 of Cameron Street, Sydney, passed away Friday, February 4, 2011 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Alexander Roach and Georgina Neil.
Bernie was a devoted mother and grandmother who’s main concern was her family’s well-being. She was a huge fan of the local flea markets and enjoyed a good game of bingo.
She is survived by 5 daughters Doris (Gordie) Matheson; Elizabeth Blackie (Brian); Mary Boudreau (Allan), all of Sydney; Georgina (Ben) Gracie; Margaret Anne (Paul) Taylor, both of the Northside; 2 sons Billy (Donna) Blackie; Jerome (Donna) Forrest, both of Ontario; 5 step children, Jocelyn MacInnis; Donnie (Margie) MacInnis; John (Wanda) MacInnis, all of Sydney; Byron (Sherry) MacInnis, New Victoria; Billy MacInnis, Alberta; sisters Maria (Peter) MacLean, New Waterford; Carmel (Linus) Muise; Kathleen Roach; Lorraine (Matthew Charazy) Chipman, all of Ontario; brothers, Leo; Alexander (Paulette); Donald (Mary), all of New Waterford; Joseph and Michael (Dawn), both of Ontario and by 26 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Bernie was predeceased by her husband John in 2005.
Visitation for Bernetta MacInnis will take place on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel with Rev. Errol MacDonald officiating. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
