Dawn G. Doyle, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Dawn was born on July 18, 1948, in Glace Bay, NS. She will forever live in the hearts of her loved ones and her kindness touched the lives of everyone she encountered.
Dawn found joy in life's simplest pleasures, cherishing moments spent with her beloved family and friends and making sure she was in the know on what was happening in the lives of everyone she loved. She was a loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, a role that brought her immeasurable happiness. She leaves behind her husband of 53 years, Tom, who stood by her side through every joy and challenge. Her memory will be cherished by her children: Mike (Myra), Jamie (Lesley) and Blair (Bianca). She was lovingly known as "Nanny” to her 6 adoring grandchildren: Mason, Makayla, Michael, Blake, Gregor and Ameila Dawn. She will also be missed by Blake and Gregor’s mom Penny.
Dawn was one of 10 children raised in Port Morien, NS. She has a twin sister Debbie and is also survived by Pam, Diane, Gayle, Lori, Mavis & Myrna (the other set of twins) and Chris. She is predeceased by her Mother and Father, Kathleen and Howard Boutilier and her brother Howard, Jr.
Dawn had a different approach than most regarding her illness and precious time with her family and friends. Instead of planning a viewing and a service, her idea of celebrating her life was her holiday “Party” where she welcomed over 80 friends and family this past Christmas, her way of seeing everyone before she left us. She deliberately found a way to spend time with everyone that she could enjoy and cherish. She shared that it was one of her favorite nights! According to her wishes there will not be a viewing or service, the family will look to celebrate her life at a later date.
The family kindly requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Cancer Care Here at Home Campaign (Link Below). This program focuses on improving the capabilities of cancer patients to be treated in Cape Breton and not have the further challenge of traveling to receive care. Our family sends a heartfelt thank you to the entire Cape Breton Regional Cancer Centre Team, the Palliative Care Team and the VON. Your compassionate care is unmatched!
