

The family of Dorothy Granich are saddened to announce her peaceful passing on July 19th at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Sydney on April 11, 1943, Dorothy was the youngest daughter of the late Ante and Slavka (Majic) Granich.
She is survived by sister, Annie MacPhee, Sydney, nieces and nephews Jim MacPhee (Cyndee), Steve MacPhee (BettyAnne), Tom MacPhee (Karen), Cathy Delaney (Ambrose), Mike MacPhee (Mary), Lita Robertson (Wayne); Cathy Granich, Kenny Granich, Noreen Edwards (Mike), Geoff Granich, and Loney Granich. Dorothy is also survived by her brother-in-law John Furdas (Katie) and many great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by siblings Tom and Katie, brother-in-law Donnie MacPhee and sister-in-law Rose Granich.
Dorothy was a woman of faith and recently travelled to Medjugorje, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Croatia (the birthplace of her parents). She loved spending time at the bungalow in Ben Eoin, especially tending her flower garden for which he had a great passion, and feeding the hummingbirds that she loved.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 25th at TW Curry Parkview Chapel with Fr. Evo Dipierro officiating.
