Elaine Delaney

I, Elaine Delaney, born on April 8, 1951, in Margaree, N.S., passed away peacefully on March 31, 2014.

I am survived by my loving mother “Ma” Beatrice Delaney Cheticamp, N.S., and was predeceased by my father William Delaney.

I am also survived by my two sons, Roger (Michelle) Matheson, Victoria Mines, and Mark (Charmaine) Matheson, Sydney, and grandchildren, Ian and Brooke. I am also survived by siblings, Paula (Bill) Haley, Margaree, Gloria (Ed) Matthews, Burlington, Ont., and Ambrose (Cathy) Delaney, Sydney. I am also survived by my nieces and nephews, Pamela and Andrew (Chrissy) Haley, Ashley Matthews, Lisa, Gregory, and Danielle Delaney.

I was predeceased by birth parents, Peggy Fraser and Francis Delaney, and I am also survived by siblings, Cheryl MacLean, Antigonish, and Marlene Bond, Canso, and I leave behind my dear and special friend Shirley MacDougall of Sydney.

Elaine will be sadly missed by not only her family and friends but also her co-workers and students at CBU where she was employed since 1996.

There will be no visitation for Elaine. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

In Elaine’s memory, donations may be sent to the scholarship fund at CBU or Cape Breton Palliative Care.
