Ethan Robert Andrew Googoo

It is with broken hearts that we announce the unexpected passing (just four days after his 35th birthday) on December 16th, 2025, of our beloved son , brother, uncle, godfather, godson, nephew, cousin and friend Ethan Robert Andrew Googoo.

Ethan was born on December 12, 1990 to Mary and Allan Googoo in Sydney at St. Rita’s Hospital. Ethan was a kind happy go lucky guy who enjoyed playing video games, collecting various cards and watching comedies and professional wrestling. He was kind and very soft spoken.

Ethan is survived by his dad Allan, siblings Stephanie, Sacha and Riles (Carlee), nieces Coda (James), Ange, Candace, Charmaine, Caprice, Charity, Avery, Sky and Presley, nephews Dre, Prentice Jr. and Constantine (also godchild), great nephews Lucas, Stefan, Brock (Coda and James) and Pie’l (Ange and Melvin). Ethan is also survived by his aunts and uncles; Bridgette Denny, Jetta Denny, Carleen, Darren, Mellisa and Vernon Googoo, Lottie, Patricia, Gerald, Gerard (Regina) and Thomas (Elizabeth) Johnson and Carol Marshall, godparents Mary Edwina Basque and Roger “Buddy” Young as well as many cousins and numerous friends.

Ethan was predeceased by his mother Mary C. Googoo, brothers Dylan, Prentice Johnson and David in infancy, sister Allie in infancy as well as maternal grandparents, John G. and Margaret Johnson, paternal grandparents Joseph and Virginia Googoo, uncles Reggie and Charles Googoo and Arthur, Ralph, and Albert Golydadd Julian and aunts Linda Moore and Elizabeth Ryan Paul.

Visitation will take place at the Gabriel Centre starting at 7pm on Sunday, December 28 and continuing until the start of the Funeral Mass which will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, December 30th at Holy Family Church, 50 Gabriel Street, Eskasoni with Fr. Joe MacKenzie, celebrant.
