With heavy hearts, we regret to announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Eunice Theresa Gould, on November 28, 2024. She passed away surrounded by her three children and loved ones at the CB Regional Hospital.
Born in We'koqma'q, Eunice was the daughter of the late Roddie and Caroline Gould. She was a member of Eskasoni Holy Family Parish. Eunice was known for sharing her beautiful smile and expressions of love engaging in conversation with everyone she met. However, her most enduring legacy will be the unconditional love she had for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the many other children she cared for with love, compassion, and kindness as a foster parent and nanny over the years.
She is survived by her three children, Stanley Jr.(Gem), Lisa, and Tom (Carol Ann); her grandchildren, Thomas Jr. (Francine), Karlee (Gerard), Brandt (Kashya), Kalolin (Rashawn), Lainee (Binch), Kieran, Stan (Tyler) III, and Aiden, and her great-grandchildren, Grace, Tom III, Kristian, Zyla, Ksalsuti, Kiya, and Kehlani; her sisters, Ethel, Marjorie, Margaret, and Annie; her lifelong, best friend, Walter, and her godchildren, Chantel, Faye, Quentin, Tuma, Tricia, Vernon, and Caroline.
Eunice was predeceased by her sons, Robert Terrance and Roddie Joseph Johnson; her granddaughter, Kirsten Germaine Johnson; and her godchild, Rodney Johnson.
Visitation will begin on Monday, December 9th, 2024 for one day at 5 pm for the family and continuing at 7pm for the public at the Gabriel Center in Eskasoni. A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, December 10th, 2024 at 10:30 am at Holy Family Church, with Father Antolin Asor officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery with Deacon Tom Sylliboy. A salite will follow at the Gabriel Center following the burial.
