Frances Kyte

94 – Bedford/Sydney

Catherine Frances Kyte, age 94 of Bedford, formerly of Sydney, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at the Halifax Infirmary, Halifax, NS.

Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Onufry and Josephine (Dononvan) Bossack.

Frances was a member of St. Ignatius parish, Bedford and a former member of Holy Redeemer parish, Whitney Pier. She had been a member of the St. Gerard’s Guild, a volunteer with family welfare and a member of both Club 55 and the Steelworker’s Pensioner’s Club, Sydney.

Surviving Frances are her daughters Sharon (Wally) MacKenzie, Sydney; Kay (Art ‘Butch’) Pittman, Bedford; son Dave (Jennifer), Texas; daughter-in-law Sandy Kyte, Dartmouth; sister-in-law Olga Bossack, Sydney; 17 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Paul, son Edward, daughter Helen ‘Perky’ Hyde, sisters Mary Bossack, Helen Pettipas and brother Daniel Bossack.

Visitation for the late Mrs. Kyte will take place on Thursday, February 18 from 6- 8 pm at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 am at Holy Redeemer Church with Rev. Paul Murphy officiating. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
