Gregory Martin MacMullin

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gregory Martin MacMullin on Friday, August 21, 2020 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born August 24th, 1932 in Louisbourg, he was the son of the late John Archie and Stella (Dixon) MacMullin. Greg was a hard-worker who dedicated his life to his family and friends. He was a devoted catholic and was well-known in the community for his mouth watering baked bread and delicious apple pies. When he retired from Parks Canada and his long career of trucking, he enjoyed spending time in his shop woodworking. Greg lived his life always looking for the good in people; he would never turn down a friend or stranger in need. He was an incredibly generous man who thoroughly enjoyed helping others without ever expecting anything in return. He was genuine, caring, and thoughtful. His sense of humour and inviting presence was always felt by others as he welcomed a friendly chat at his kitchen table any time of the day or night. Poppy left an impression on every person he met and will be missed dearly by many. He is survived by his children Charlotte (Terry), Betty-Anne (Glenn), Greg (Debbie), Dirls, Linda-Dinks (Calvin); grandchildren Greg (Odette), Tina (Darrick), Stephanie, J.R., Joey, Glen, Melissa (Colin), Bradley, Caylen, Khanden; great grandchildren Gregory, Addison, Alyssa, Camryn, Quenton, Danicka, Caiden, Liam, Rylee, Victor, Alex, Avery; great great grandchildren Hunter, Rory; and siblings, Theresa, Ralph, Betty, Mickey, and Tish. He was predeceased by his parents; his siblings Roderick, Margaret, Sadie, Patrick, John, Sr. Mary, Peter, George, and Danny. Visitation will take place Tuesday, August 25th at Stella Maris Parish in Louisbourg from 11:00am-1:00pm. Funeral mass will follow with Father Evo DiPierro officiating. Due to Covid-19 funeral mass is limited to 50 people. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Stella Maris Parish Cemetery Fund.
