From the bottom of our hearts we are sad to announce the passing of our beautiful daughter, Janet Margaret Smith of Membertou. She passed away on September 15, 2019 at the IWK Hospital, with her loving family by her side. Although she was with us only briefly, determined to stay, the Creator’s plan was for her to become our blessed angel.

She is survived by her parents Rebecca Johnson and Dana Smith. Janet is also survived by sisters Sarah, Aaliyah, Videl and brother Alex; grandparents Sandra & Ian Christmas and Thomas & Elizabeth Johnson; great grandparents George & Dale Smith, Mary Kelly and Shirley Christmas; great great grandmother Viola Paul and a large amount of aunties, uncles and cousins.

She was predeceased by grandparents Jean Simon, Margaret ‘Dr. Granny’ Johnson, John T. Johnson, Margaret Janet Francis and Charles Francis and great grandfather Leonard Christmas.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 20 at 23 L’nu Avenue, Membertou after 3 pm. A funeral service will take place at St. Ann Mission Church, Membertou on Saturday, September 21 at 11 am with Deacon Lorne MacNeil presiding. Interment in Membertou Memorial Gardens.
