

91 – Ben Eoin
John Joseph MacLellan, 91 , died on August 9, 2010 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital after a full and productive life.
He was a lifelong resident of Ben Eoin. During his career in the construction industry, which extended over 60 years, “Johnny Ben Eoin” earned a reputation for excellence, honesty and dedication. Everyone who dealt with him received more than fair value. This was also true in his personal and community life. He was forever ready to help family, his neighbours and his church, without complaint or consideration of the cost.
John is survived by his wife of 64 years, Teresa, daughters Jean (Bernie) Boudreau, Judy (Mike) Connolly, Cathy (Paul) Newman, all of Halifax; sons Robert (Linda) of Ben Eoin and David (Rosemary) of Halifax. John is also survived by his sister, Sister Anne MacLellan of Antigonish. John took great joy in his grandchildren, Corinne, Brian and Doug Boudreau, Maureen and Colleen Connolly, John MacLellan, Matt and Laura Newman and Andrew and Kathleen MacLellan and his great grandchildren Enya and Owen Hickey and Helen Boudreau. He was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Sadie MacKinnon and Mary Donovan and a brother, Martin.
Visitation will take place from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Thursday in T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 am at St. Mary’s Church in East Bay with Rev. Francis Abbass officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery.
