

64 – Sydney/Northside East Bay
John MacLellan, 64 of Sydney, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2014, after a 3 year battle with cancer.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Alec Angus and Margaret (O’Handley) MacLellan.
He was a Heavy Equipment Operator and did much carpentry work with his brothers over the more recent years. John enjoyed spending his free time with his family especially when a match of horseshoes and other fun was involved, including the infamous Cowflop.
He is survived by his wife, the former Rose Doyle; daughter Pauline Cormier, Toronto; sons David (Lisa); Alex (Jolene); Michael; Kelsie (April), all of Sydney; sisters, Mary ‘Tootsie” Gillis, East Bay; Isabel (Richard) Mayo, Massachusetts; Kay Vieara, East Bay; Marguerite (Brian) Kierran, Massachusetts; Jessie (Archie) Pierre, Sydney; Betty Wermers, Massachusetts; Theresa (Pat) MacNeil, St. Peter’s; Rose Marie (Dan) MacArthur, Dartmouth; brothers, Danny (Carol); Patrick (Judy); Roddie; Lenny; Michael, all of East Bay; Pius (Jenny), B.C.; grandsons Blake and Jackson and by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by son John James Jr. ‘J.J.’, brother Angus, sister Ann Marie and ex-wife Barbara.
Friends may call on family after 10 am Friday, April 4, followed by a funeral service at 1 pm, both in T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel, with Rev. Tom Whent officiating. Interment at a later date.
