Joyce Calnon McDonald, formerly of Fairview St., Northend Sydney, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Taigh Na Mara, Glace Bay.
Born in London, England, she was the daughter of the late George and Edith (Jones) Calnon.
While serving in WWII in the British W.A.A.F., Joyce married Allan J. McDonald, RCAF of Pleasant St, Sydney and came to Cape Breton as a War Bride in 1946.
She was employed with CJCB/ATV Sydney from 1966 until her retirement in 1988.
She is survived by brother Raymond and sister Molly, son Allan G. (Marilyn) and daughter Diane.
Joyce was predeceased by husband Allan J., brothers George and Norman, sister Sybil and son Robbie.
Visitation for Mrs. McDonald will begin at 4 pm on Monday, November 21 and will continue until the time of the funeral service at 6pm with Rev. Bill Burke officiating. A reception will follow at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks. Donations may be made to a charity of choice.
