Karl Vincent Lafford, age 62 of 5307 Mountain Road, Eskasoni, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 at home surrounded by his family and friends.

Born in Machias Maine, USA. He was the son of Mary C. Francis of Eskasoni and the late Levi Lafford, Eskasoni.

He was a member of Holy Family parish, Eskasoni. Karl was a professional drywaller by trade for many years. He was a talented musician who loved to play his guitar at many functions and family gatherings. He was a foster parent for many years and was devoted and dedicated to the Saint Anne Mawiomi in Chapel Island as a carrier of Saint Anne for 40 years. He was also involved in the Cursillo Movement. He was a good man, who loved to make people laugh.

He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Joan (Gould), his children Andrew (Marcia), Amanda (Nigel), Jolita, Erica, Dimitri, Cammeilia (Gordon), 17 grandchildren, brothers, John (Sharon), Kevin (Anita), Kenny, Walter Jr. (Audrey), Richard, Jonaphan (Katerine), Johnathan (Lynn), sisters Eunice, Beverly, Mary, also the Joe family brother and sisters and his and 7 godchildren.

Karl was predeceased by his stepfather Walter Francis Sr., brother Fabian Francis, nephew Alexander Francis, niece Wendy Lewis, grandparents John Joe and Mary Isabell Joe and uncles Levi Joe and Wilfred Joe.

Visitation for the late Karl Lafford will begin Tuesday (today), November 15 after 6 pm at his home at 5307 Mountain Road, Eskasoni. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Thursday at Holy Family Church with Rev. Martin MacDougall officiating. Interment in Holy Family Parish Cemetery, Eskasoni.
