59 – Eskasoni

Kenneth Anthony Googoo age 59 of 140 Spencer’s Lane, Eskasoni, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 25, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving wife, family and friends.

Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Roddie and Matilda (Dennis) Googoo.

He was a member of Holy Family parish, Eskasoni. Kenny was a volunteer fire fighter for many years and worked most of his life as a plumber and later as a security guard/watchman for the Eskasoni schools and fisheries. He liked to play bingo and cards and being outdoors fishing, hunting and camping with his friends. He also loved to coach lob ball for Team Bloge Busters.

He is survived by his wife the former Frances (MacDonald), daughters Annie (Alphonse) Young; Gina; Alexina, all of Eskasoni; Lisa (Dave) Patton, Halifax; six grandchildren Haylee, Lynzie, Londyn, Katelynn, Kanda, Josh; great grandson Keani; sisters Clara (Anthony), Laura, Barbara (David), Anita, Rose Ann (Albert), Florence (Clarence), Trudy, all of Eskasoni; Doreen (Pius), Membertou, Linda and Karen of NB; brothers Roderick (Christine), Ryan (Hazel), Raymond, Steve (April), Francis ‘Mick’ (Dorothy), all of Eskasoni; by special family friend Noel ‘Ginger’ Marshall and also by numerous extended family.

Kenny was predeceased by a son at birth Kenneth Alexander, brother Robert and sisters, Suzie Jane, Isabel, Annie Bridget and Sheila; grandson Alphonse J. Young and granddaughter Sieanna.

Visitation for the late Mr. Googoo will be on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at the family residence, 140 Spencer’s Lane, Eskasoni after 7 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Tuesday, August 2 at Holy Family Church with Rev. Martin MacDougall officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery.
