OBITUARIO
Margaret Aline Fogarty
18 septiembre , 1927 – 4 noviembre , 2020
We are saddened to announce the passing of our mother Margaret (Maggie) Fogarty on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, NS at age 93. She was born September 18, 1927 in Sydney NS, the daughter of Theophile and Fernande Leon. Mom attended Holy Angels High School and was a long time member of Sacred Heart Church. Mom had many talents. She was an accomplished seamstress and baker. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Mom enjoyed going for drives with her family along the many roads of Cape Breton. Margaret was predeceased by her husband John who was a soldier in the Canadian Army. While in the Army, they travelled across Canada many times, camping throughout the country! Mom loved that life on the road where many memories were made. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by son Barry in infancy, her sister Bernie Poirier and brothers Bill and Albert Leon. Mom is survived by her sister Julie MacPherson of Montreal as well as her children Bill (Averil), Johnny (Arlene), Richie (Pam), David, Ron (Anne), Kenny (Rochelle) and daughter Eileen Barteldt (Gary). Also surviving are 13 grandchildren Janice, James, David, Jennifer, Jillian, John Douglas, Alanna, Greg, Julie, Allyssa, Melanie, Ben and Kenneth as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Mrs Fogarty was one of those people who always met you with a smile whenever you ran into each other.Often growing up in the north end , you would see her with her sister in law walking to town , rarely one without the other. Sacred Heart Church , the parishioners , were dear to her heart. I enjoyed very much chatting with her, most of these chats as we walked home from mass. A true north end mom who looked after all.
May she she Rest In Peace, deepest sympathies to the family.
