

Margaret Lewis, 90, passed away Friday, June 29, 2012 at the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre in Halifax. Born in Sydney in 1921, she was a daughter of the late Archibald and Roberta Macdonald and wife of the late Lloyd M. Lewis, Sydney River. She was a member of St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Coxheath and St. Mark’s ACW. After training to become an RN at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, she returned home to Sydney, where she worked for 25 years as head nurse at Sydney City Hospital. Margaret is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Roberta and John Hancock, Fall River and granddaughter, Lauren Hancock, Toronto. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her only sister and brother-in-law Louise and John Macaulay, Westmount. Visitation for the late Margaret Lewis will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, July 3 at T. W. Curry Parkview Chapel, Sydney. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 4 at St. George’s Anglican Church, Sydney. Rev. Karen Quirk will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mark’s Anglican Cemetery, Coxheath.
