Margaret Stevens, 68 of 108 Crane Cove Road, Eskasoni, passed away peacefully Monday, April 27, 2015 surrounded by her family at New Waterford Hospital.

Born in the Nottaway River in Northern Quebec, she was the daughter of Sophia (Weistche) Small of Quebec and the late Bertrand Small.

She was a member of Holy Family parish, Eskasoni.

Marg’s favorite pastime was playing bingo, cooking and being in the company of her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Roger; daughter Claudia (Darryl), son Bert (Charlene), both of Eskasoni; grandchildren Cody, Leanne, Daralynn, Mathew, Drake, Deon, Deven, Danelle, Darla, Andrew, Molly, Khrisanna, Christopher; great grandchildren, twins Joy and Jaden; godchildren Bradley Stevens, Bonnie Cremo, Jon Rhett Gould and Justin ‘Muin’ Denny. Also by sisters Beatrice, Doris (Jack), Judy (Oliver), Virginia, Laura (Paul), Brenda (John Patrick); brothers Sandy (Madeline), Clarence (Pauline), Bertie (Mary), Michael and Alfred, all from Waskaganish, Quebec.

Margaret was predeceased by her loving daughter Delores Ann, beloved grandson ‘Andalo’, brother Richard, sisters-in-law Dorothy and Nellie and brother-in-law George.

Visitation for the late Mrs. Stevens will be on Thursday (today) beginning at 7 pm at the Gabriel Center, Eskasoni. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 2 at 10:30 am at Holy Family Church with Rev. Martin MacDougall officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery, Eskasoni.
