Dear Peter and Mary Isabel, 
Lydia let me know about your mom's passing, and I thought for sure that I would  have been in touch before this. I just returned from being at home, and while I was there both my uncle and cousin passed away between my Halifax and Cape Breton concerts - so that's why I have not been in touch. Peter, you have been so terrific to your mother - a real blessing for her. I know that you will miss her terribly. Imagine all that your mom did beyond raising such a large family! What an amazing and full life! I hope that you and your family are doing well, and I hope to see you in the summer.

Dear Kevin & Joan:  It's with great sadness that we read today in the Herald of your mother's passing.    She was always friendly to me when we were growing up in the North end (even though she didn't like us climbing over the back fence!) She led a remarkable life. Imagine working under Dr. Moses Coady!  Raising such a large family was in itself a remarkable feat. Time is a great healer.  We have both lost our mothers and not matter what their ages (ours were 89 and 89) the loss is still hard to bear.  Our love and prayers are with you during this time.

My sincere condolences go out to my cousins for the loss of their dear mom,my aunt Mary.She was a very kind and gentle lady and I know she was a great mother to all of you.My heart and thoughts go out to you at this difficult time.

Mary Isabel, Catherine Anne, Adele, Kevin, Peter, Vaughn, and Paul; our thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of Aunt Mary's passing.

Dear Catherine Anne and family.  I am so very sorry for the loss of your Mom. I met your Mom through you in the mid 70's.  She always made me welcome in her home.  I was never treated like the stranger that I was at those first couple of meetings.
As you know I knew your dad from childhood when he came to our store in his job. Your Mom and Dad were always so kind.
 It was fun to take her on a drive and she could tell you who lived or who had lived in every home we passed as she had been in every one either in her job with singer or with the extension department.
Oh the stories she could tell!
 She loved to play solitaire and could often  be found at the kitchen table with her deck of cards.
There is so much more that I could say but I will end with my deepest sympathy to your whole family at this time.
