The family is saddened, yet privileged, to announce the passing of Neil Malcolm Oswald (Malcie), of Big Pond, on March 10th, 2025. He left us, and this world, as he lived his life; peacefully, gracefully and surrounded by love.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Marie (MacInnis), son, Calum (Angela), daughter, Lindsay (Christian) and grandchildren Mary, Ayla and Lennox. Also a mention of the beautiful father-daughter relationship with Trese (Jimmy), granddaughters Christie-Marie and Mae, and his foster son, Peter (Gloria) and grandsons Dante and Jarred. Sharing in the grief is a brother, Hughie (Collette), sisters Geraldine, Anne (Bradley) and Juanita, sister-in-law Rhodena, cousin Edward, brothers and sisters-in-law, and his special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by parents, Johnny & Eldon, sister Fran, brother Cyril, and in-laws Dan Joe, Christie, Philip, John Willie and Darlene MacInnis.
Malcie set a standard for which to appreciate the simple pleasures of life and family. Whether it be his many years as a beloved school bus driver, a gifted musician, or a friend, Malcie's laughter, humour, kindness and philosophy on life, was cherished and respected.
On behalf of the MacPhee and MacInnis family, we bid you a sweet farewell Malcie, as you continue your spiritual journey on the wings of an angel.
There will be no visitation as per Malcie's wish. A funeral service will be held on March 29th, at 10:00 am, St. Mary's Parish, Big Pond, with Father Anthony O'Connor officiating. A reception will follow at the Big Pond Firehall and Community Center.
I must be going, I must be on my way.
