It is with deep sadness that we, the family of Noel Roderick Julian, are announcing his sudden passing on December 10, 2021 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Eskasoni First Nation on June 4, 1957, he was the son of the late Ralph Joseph Julian and Irene Morningstar Herney.
Noel will be remembered as a kind, caring and smiling man. He enjoyed 80's music and travelling to anywhere he could. In the past few years he lived at the Richmond Villa and then moved to Mawitamk in Whycocomagh where he has made his new friends. He was also known as a carpenter and helped build many homes in Potlotek. He loved spending every minute with his children and grandchildren. Describing the person he was in a paragraph isn't enough.
Noel will be sadly missed by his wife, Marlene Julian. Loving father of Noelle (Potlotek), Juanita, Melissa, Roy and Noel Jr. (Halifax), Audrey, Leon and Rita (Eskasoni). Proud grandfather of Adam, Alicia, Joyce, Grace, Paige, Dalin, Jaden, Ainsley, Kyra, Clark, Maximus, Mindy, Kyrie, Trae, Keanu, Catalina, Horatio and Marcellus. A dear friend and companion of Rita Michael, a step-father to her children Johnny, Albert, Esther, George and Noel. Brothers; Lawrence (Pictou Landing), Audie (Eskasoni), Michael (PEI), Brian (Halifax); sisters Marie (Big Cove), Rachel, Ralcie (Eskasoni), Eileen (Ottawa), godparents Joan (deceased) and Albert and godchildren April (deceased) and Jamie.
Visitation will be held in the Gabriel Centre, Eskasoni on Thursday, Dec. 16 starting at 5:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Dec. 18 at 10:30am at Holy Family Church with Fr. Antonlin Asor officiating. Burial to follow in the Parish Cemetery. Following the burial, there will be a reception at the Gabriel Centre and a salite.
