

Eskasoni
Peter Bernard, 73 of Eskasoni passed away November, 30th, 2017 at the Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Charlotte Town P.E.I, he was the son of Ester Bernard-Googoo. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Eskasoni.
At the young age of 14 Peter had formed a trucking company in his home town, he employed his brother George, Andrew Joe Stevens and Roddie Boy Johnson. He became a truck driver for Day and Ross, Sydney. He also worked at Union Nova Scotia Indians and later at the NIAD office. He loved working at Eskasoni Abomoweg Furniture; later years he worked for Eskasoni Water Works for 35 years.
Survived by his wife Nora Bernard (Marshall), only daughter Margaret, son in-law Ron, Daughter in-law Leta, grandchildren Brylan, Blair-Joef (Sabrina), Bernadette, Bryton (Mya), Bernelle, Bryson and Brock all of Eskasoni. Several nieces and nephews; Godchildren Mike, Dean, Johnny, Annette, Veronica, Florence and Malklit. Pre-Deceased by his Wife Bernadette Bernard (Sylliboy), Son Blair, Son and Daughter in infancy, grandson Stephen, Grandmother Mary Bernard, Aunt Mary Agnes Bernard, Uncle William (checker) Bernard. Brothers George, Vincent (Frenchie), John and step Brother Roddie Googoo Sr, and step father Denny Googoo.
The visitations for Peter Bernard will be open to the public 7:00pm Monday, December, 4th, 2017 at the Gabriel Center, Eskasoni. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30am on Wednesday, December, 6th, 2017 at the Holy Family Parish Church with Fr. Martian MacDougall Officiating.
