

We, the family of Phyllis MacDonald sadly announce her passing on December 20, 2015 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Rear Boisdale on July 2, 1934, she was the eldest daughter of the late John and Mary Jane (MacIntyre) Campbell of Frenchvale. Phyllis graduated from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in 1958 and although she retired at age sixty-five, she continued nursing part-time until age seventy-eight. Phyllis is survived by son, James MacDonald, Westmount, daughters Adele (Rodney) Dominey, Halifax, Melissa (Tony) Langlois, Howie Centre, and by grandson Camdon Langlois. Also surviving are her sisters, Catherine Anne (late Michael) Johnston, Joan (Charles) MacKinnon, Martena (Bill) Campbell, and Michelle (Lindsey) Cooke, and by sisters-in-law, Jessie MacDonald (Harbourstone) and Kay Anderson (Boston). Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, Neil and her brothers-in-law Duncan MacDonald and Michael Johnston.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday December 22, 2015 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Mary’s Church, East Bay with Rev. Frank Abbass officiating. Interment in the Parish Cemetery.
