Sandra Penny

It is with sadness of heart that we the family of Sandra June Penny announce her passing at Harbourstone Enhanced Care in Sydney on Aug. 25, 2024 at 77 years of age following a battle with cancer. She was a former resident at the Breton Ability Centre. She was born to the late Ethelburt and Hazel (Chappell) Penny on June 12, 1947. Sandra worked for years at the Kinsmen Horizon Centre until her health would no longer allow. She was known for her caring heart and kindness towards others. She loved to laugh and had a unique laughter.

She is survived by her sisters Roberta Wadden (Gervase), aunt Isabel, niece Susan (Tom) Colborne and their children Amanda and Jeremy (Alyssa) along with 4 grandnephews, 1 grandniece many cousins and friends including Betty, Maxine, Phillip and Marion whom she met while in Harbourstone.

Besides her parents, Sandra was predeceased by her 2 brothers David and Wayne, 1 sister Mary MacIsaac, niece Carol Richardson and nephew Carl Lewis.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, 40 Cabot Street, Sydney at 11:00am on Friday, September 6 with Fr. Bill Burke officiating. Interment to follow in Forest Haven Cemetery. Memories and condolences can be shared with the family by visiting www.twcurry.com.
