Theresa M. White

We the family regret to announce the passing of Theresa White at MacGillivray Guest Home on February 25, 2023. Born in Port Hastings, Inverness on February 12, 1940 she was the daughter of the late Allan & Jessie (Walker) MacKinnon.

Theresa enjoyed the social scene being a member of the Elks Lodge Schooner Curling Club with her late husband Thomas White. She was also a member of dart leagues and enjoyed a good dance, especially if her husband was singing. Camping on the Mira & St. Anne’s was one of her favorite places to be. Theresa also loved her second family at MacGillivray, where she was best known as “Mumsie”.

Theresa is survived by her children Lynn Dairou (Adam) and Allan White, both of Sydney, Thomas White (Tammy) and their children Jennie and Leah of Glace Bay, grandson Brandon Dairou and granddaughter Madison Dairou. Theresa is also survived by her brothers Gerard MacKinnon (Rose) and Wayne MacKinnon (Nancy) and sister in law Helen, as well as many neieces, nephews, and cousins.

Theresa is predeceased by her parents Allan & Jessie (Walker) MacKinnon, her husband Thomas White, brother Angus MacKinnon, mother & father in law Leo and Elizabeth (Morris) White.

As per Theresa’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held for family.
