Alan was such a loyal friend. He is so greatly missed. A generous man who attended my daughters baptism and birthdays. So knowledgeable, he taught me so much about cars, driving,and bikes.  The great memories of cooking out, drive in movies with the kids, and hunting a bit are cherished. The memories of Alan's charisma and his ability to recall names was uncanny.  Everywhere I went with him, he knew someone or was making a new friend.  Attending Barber races, golf tournaments with Alan and sometimes Chloe are cherished memories. We shared so many laughs. I miss you friend.

Michele, Chloe, and Mr. Kidd, my heart goes out to you all and I am so glad that I was able to share a couple of meals with ya'll.  Always know that if there is anything I can do for any of you please call me.

I just saw Alan at mine and Michelle's high school reunion.  So terribly sorry to hear about this.  Such a good person.  You will be missed.

Our deepest sympathies to the Kidd family.  Alan was so very full of life and such an encouragement to others around him...including myself.  He knew no disability and was full of joy and life which he shared freely with those around him.  I will certainly miss spending time with him at Cowboys.  He was a great friend and a blessing to all.

alan was such a sweet person. he always had a smile on his face. he will be missed by all.

I have loved Alan since he was 7 years old. His joyful spirit, his unbelievable grin, which melted my heart, his generous way,....it added up to an unforgettable young man whom I adored.  He was such a good friend to Richard for years and there's a hole in us that will stay. Our prayers are with all of you as your lives are forever changed. Alan was a good friend of my younger brother Jason. Alan and I became friends when I moved to Birmingham around 1985. Such a great guy that always brought a smile, we always would talk for a while and look forward to seeing each other through the years. I will remember Alan always. May you rest in heaven brother with God watching over you and your family.

Alan and I met through a mutual friend Jon Guthrie. Sitting around with them and telling stories accounts for some of the finest times I have ever shared with friends. Alan you will be missed by all those fortunate enough  to meet you and come to know you well.

What a great person and friend. A great father to a very special girl. Chloe was everything to her dad. We will always remember the fun times riding horses.  Alan will be missed so much. Our prayers are with the family at this time.

Alan and I met and  became friends when his daughter and my step daughter took riding lessons at River Run Stables.  Alan was a good friend that  would give you a straight, honest sincere answer and / or  opinion. I enjoyed his humor and that he was a caring person. I will miss him ...
