Bennie H. Morris

Bennie H. Morris, of Childersburg, Alabama passed away on November 10th in Summerville, SC. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 22nd at 11:00 AM immediately following visitation from 10:00-11:00 AM at Curtis and Sons Funeral Home, Childersburg, AL. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Michael J. Fox for Parkinson’s Research at Grand Central Station, PO Box 4777, New York, NY 10163-4777.

Bennie Jo, a Christmas baby, was born December 25th, 1931 to the late Edgar Bennett Hornsby and Floyce Elizabeth Rich Hornsby in Acmar, AL. She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Oak Grove where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed her family, her church, and caring for her beautiful flowers. She had a career as a secretary and clerk and had been employed by Beaunit Fibers, Georgia Marble, Dewberry Engraving, and EBSCO Industries.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, James W. Morris, son W. Peter Morris, and sisters Sara Lightsey, Louise Hope, Imogene Newby, and Essie Mae Jones.

Bennie is survived by her son Wiley Morris (Sandra) of Summerville SC, grandson Matthew Morris of Clemson SC, and siblings Mary Lou Newby, Tom Hornsby, and Laney Earley.
