Elizabeth Virginia Bailey Hutchison

Sylacauga, AL - Elizabeth Virginia Bailey Hutchison passed away on April 6, 2016 at Sylacauga Health and Rehab.  She was a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  As the wife of career U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer L. T. Hutchison, she raised three children as the family moved seven times prior to retiring to Sylacauga, Alabama in 1964.Her greatest pride was in her family and her service to Oak Grove Baptist Church. Virginia or "Ginner" as she was called by some friends and relatives was a member of Oak Grove for more than 50 years. She, along with other ladies in the Church, used to make quilts.  The money made from the sale of the quilts funded improvements to the church over the years.She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Frank and Lucy Bailey, by her sisters Carolyn Bailey, Ruth Weddeke and Nancy Muse, her daughter Pam Lightsey and her husband Lender Thomas Hutchison.She is survived by her sisters June Turner and Nell McLendon, her sons David Hutchison(wife Teenie) and Tom Hutchison (wife Brenda), and son-in-law Ron Lightsey.  She is also survived by nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.Services will be held at the Chapel of Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga, Alabama with Reverend Max Buttram officiating.  Visitation will be from 2-4 pm on Sunday April 10, 2016 and the service will begin at 4:00 pm.  A private graveside service will take place immediatelyfollowing the funeral service.Pall Bearers will be her grandsons: Clay Talton, Jason Hutchison, Brian Hutchison, Hunter Hutchison, Carter Hutchison, Tommy Hutchison, and Blake Hutchison.In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in honor of Virginia Hutchison to Oak Grove Baptist Church, PO Box 256, Sylacauga, Alabama 35150.Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.radneysmith.com.Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga, AL will direct the services.
