Evelyn Nicholson

Graveside services for Evelyn  Nicholson, 84, will be Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Hillview Cemetery in Alexander City, Alabama with the Dr. Kevin Thomas and Rev. Tommy Bounds officiating.  Visitation will be Monday, May 31 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.Mrs. Nicholson died Sunday, May 30, 2010 at Brookwood Medical Center after a brief illness.    Mrs. Nicholson was an active member of Mignon United Methodist Church in Sylacauga and was active in the Sylacauga Auxiliary Pink Ladies at Coosa Valley Medical Center.She was preceded in death by her parents, Walker and Della Templeton.  She was also preceded in death by her husbands Joel C. Gardner and Eldridge (Pat) Nicholson.She is survived by her sister, Ruth T. Thomas of Alexander City;  nephews, Derryl  Thomas of Alexander City, Glenn  Thomas, wife Sheila, of Birmingham, David  Thomas, wife Renee, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Kevin Thomas, wife Melissa, of Ranburne, Alabama;  step-daughters, Patricia Butler, husband Charles, of Florence, Alabama, and Donna Bradford, husband Tim, of Sylacauga; and a host of great-grandchildren and great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Nicholson’s nephews and sons-in-law.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the charity of your choice.Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.radneysmith.com.Radney-Smith Funeral Home will direct the service.
