Mrs. Gertrude Carter Varner, age 92 of Sylacauga, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 29 at 3:00 PM at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with Rev. Don Grice and Rev. Jimmy Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Church on Wednesday from 1:00 until 3:00 PM.
Mrs. Varner is survived by her two sons, Rodger Varner (Jackie) of Sylacauga and Jack B. Varner (Lynn) of Weogufka; daughter, Sybil Kirkpatrick (Johnny Mack) of Stewartville; ten grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Varner, and son, Johnny Varner.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Donations may be made to Mt. Moriah Cemetery Fund.
