

Services will be held Monday, April 7, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Oldfield officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11 prior to the service. Burial will be in Talladega Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Bowman lived most of his life in the Birmingham area, moved to Lay Lake upon retirement from Tom Williams Cadillac. Hillard loved living the lake life, and many family memories were made there. He was a member of 66th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, where he was also honored to be a deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Ola Bowman, his wife Violet Bowman, daughters Janice Moore and Darlene Bolden, granddaughter Wendy Moore. He was also preceded in death by brothers Haywood Bowman, Quinton "Nub" Bowman, Durand "Buddy" Bowman, Edward Bowman, Wendell Bowman, and Donald Bowman.
He is survived by his brothers Emmett (Margaret) Bowman and Truman (Sharon) Bowman, sister in law Pat (Donald) Bowman, his daughter Brenda (Mike) Acton, son Richard (Becky) Bowman. Grandchildren Susanne (Gabriel) Cifuentes, Robbie (Becky) Bolden, Stacey (Chad) Rayburn, Jamie (Crystalea) Bowman, Angela (Jimmy) Justice, John (Christy) Acton.
Ten Great Grandchildren, 2 Great-Great Grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank the caregivers at Adam's Health and Rehab in Alexander City for the outstanding care and love that they showed him the last 12 years, and Southern Care New Beacon Hospice for their wonderful care in these past months.
