James Lewis Morris

James Lewis Morris left this world surrounded by the love of family and friends. James was a devoted family member, loyal friend, and someone who truly appreciated the simple joys in life. Whether he was out hunting at sunrise, fishing on a quiet lake, or spending time with his beloved dogs, he found happiness in the outdoors and in the company of those he loved most.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Myrtle Morris; his daughter, Sherry Knight (Chris); his son, Chris Morris (Marnae); his grandchildren, Adam Barnett (Adara), Ashley Zeigler (Muzzey), Kayla Lucas (Nathan), Blake Fix (Tori), C J Knight, and Jacob Knight (Julie); his great grandchildren, Bryce, Arianna, Mickey James "MJ", Kayden, Kayson, Kennedy, Cora, and John Banks; and his sisters, Mavis Davis and Betty Faye Sanford.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Minnie Clara Morris, and his siblings, Cora Lee Miller, TJ Morris, Robert Earl Morris, Gerald Morris, Dorothy Burns, and Louise Nicholson.

Visitation will be held at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, 320 North Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama 35150, on May 29, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 2:00 pm. Burial will be at Talladega Springs Cemetery, Sylacauga Fayetteville Highway, Sylacauga.

Pallbearers will be Scott Isbell, Cliett Hudson, Blake Fix, Jacob Knight, Adam Barnett, and Muzzey Zeigler, with honorary pallbearers Kelly Cates, Gordon Jones, and Keith Wesson.
