Foley, AL - Graveside service for Jean Strickland Mitchell, 85, will be Sunday, July 16, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Talladega Springs Cemetery with The Rev. Susan Rose McKee officiating.
Mrs. Mitchell died Sunday, July 9. 2023 at Covenant Care in Pensacola, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald "Jerry" Mitchell, and parents, Jack and Madge Coleman Strickland. She was the owner of Kozy Korner Restaurant in Fayetteville for many years until she retired. She loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. Her love for traveling was only surpassed by her love of animals, especially JJ and Brady.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeri Melinda Rayfield (Brian); granddaughter, Stacey Godfrey (Chris); two grandchildren, Ashley Winther (Abby), Lauren Nixon (Sheldon); great-grandchild, Josie Byrd; and a host of nieces and nephews that she loved very much.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.
