Jessie "Paw Bear" Steve Cox

Jessie is survived by his wife, JoAnn Cox; his son Fred Cox; his daughter Edith Bryant; his daughter Jessie Lynn Ferguson; and his son Scott Ferguson.

Jessie also leaves a host of sisters, brothers, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews to cherish his memory.

Jessie was preceded in death by his father Arthur Cox and his mother Lois Cox; his brother Ed Cox; his sister Evelyn Wesson; his brother Gene (Knothead) Cox; his brother Noble John Cox; his brother Alton (Junior) Cox; his sister Mae Cox Jacobs and his sister Mary Jane Carter; his granddaughter Susan Ferguson.

Jessie was a founding member of the County Line Volunteer Fire Department with 33 years of service. He worked at Avondale Mills for 29 years. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

A visitation for Jessie will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, 320 North Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama 35150, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Bro. Doug Williams officiating.

Jessie's final resting place will be at Fayetteville Cemetery, 5441 Old Fayetteville Rd, Sylacauga, AL 35151.
