Dr. John George Shuttleworth, age 80, of Sylacauga, died August 29, 2010 at his residence. Dr. Shuttleworth was a physician, having practiced medicine in Florence, AL for over 20 years at the time of his retirement and return to Sylacauga. He was a 1947 graduate of Sylacauga High School, a 1951 graduate of the University of Alabama, and a 1957 graduate of the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Patricia Shuttleworth of Sylacauga; three sons, John Shuttleworth (Kelly) of Tullahoma, TN; William Schuttleworth of Birmingham, AL; and Dixon Shuttleworth, also of Birmingham; one daughter, Mrs. Joan Barnes Musck (Donnie) and nine grandchildren. A memorial service will follow a one hour visitation from 11 am until noon on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at the William Killough Chapel on Lovely Lane in Sylacauga. The memorial service will begin at noon with the Rev. Jim Sanford officiating.
