Sylacauga, AL - Funeral service for Johnny (J.J.) Mays, 46, will be Friday, September 16, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with Rev. Freddie Edwards officiating.
Mr. Mayes died Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lori and mother, Carol Ann. JJ Mays "Machine Man" was owner of Capitol Machine. His business was his passion. He lived by these mottos; Live till you die, Average was easy and Give more than you take. Mr. Mays was well respected by his friends and loved by his family. He had an enthusiastic personality.
He is survived by his wife, Misty Mays; three children, Parker David Mays, Paxton Lee Mays, Piper Leigh Ann Mays; grandmother, Lois Harvey; two uncles, Steve Harvey wife Jan, Uncle Bob; adopted nephew, Jansen and cousin, Zach Harvey.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 15, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.
