

Funeral services for Linda Annette (Davis) Hopwood, 73, will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at 1:00 p.m., at Curtis & Son Funeral Home North Chapel, Sylacauga, AL. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, in Sylacauga, AL. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Curtis & Son Funeral Home North Chapel in Sylacauga, AL. Mrs. Hopwood was born on August 17, 1943, and went to be with her Lord on May 21, 2017. She was a lifelong member of Marble City Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Bobby Earle Hopwood, and together with him was the owner of The Office Assistant and Broadway Pawn Shop until retirement. She was a fiercely devoted wife, a generous and loving mother, and a wonderful neighbor and friend as she strove to bring joy and the love of Christ to all she met.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hopwood is also preceded in death by her mother, Myrtle M. Davis; and her father, Horace W. Davis. She is survived by daughter Tracie Hopwood of Chelsea, AL, and her boyfriend James Ruf of Springville, AL; son Bobby Lee Hopwood, his wife Rose Ann, and daughter Annalee Grace, of Addison, TX; sister and husband, Joyce (Davis) Heigl and James Heigl; niece Jessica Heigl Houston, her husband Lamar, and children Maegan, Macie, and Blake; cousin Diane Wells Horton; many other cousins and relatives; and many close and loving friends and neighbors.
Minister Tommye Lambert will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be James Heigl, Lamar Houston, Blake Houston, James Ruf, Neal Harris, and Alan Giddens.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day - and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” (2 Timothy 4:7-8)
Curtis & Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service. The family welcomes flowers.
