SYLACAUGA - Funeral service for Lonnie Clyde Machen, 89, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at First United Methodist Church of Sylacauga with the Rev. Lewis Archer and the Rev. Sidne Martin officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 9-10 a.m. at the church.
Mr. Machen died Aug. 13, 2010 at Life Care Center in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Sylacauga for over 65 years and was retired from Avondale Mills where he served as a Payroll Auditor.
Survivors are his wife of 65 years, Vivian Adams Machen of Sylacauga; daughters, Sue Wind (Jim) of Cary, N.C., and Jan Dickson (Steve) of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; grandchildren, Matt McGee (Kim), Melissa Bonneau (Steven), and Drew Dickson; great-grandchildren, Sam, David, and Katie McGee; Austin and Abby Bonneau, and Alex Dickson.
Visitation will be held from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 17th at Curtis and Son North Chapel.
The family will receive flowers or donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Sylacauga or Alzheimer's Association.
